There are a lot of books that everyone should read in the year 2022. I personally like to set up a list of different books to read.
As a fellow reader, I like to challenge myself when it comes to reading. Every December, I set up a reading challenge for the next year. In December 2020, I promised myself I would read 50 books in the year 2021. I’m now two books away from reaching my goal.
For 2022, I decided to double my reading goal and hopefully read 100 books. I want to keep an open mind when it comes to book genres as I mostly read fiction and self-help books.
There are a lot of novels, science, and self-help books that I want to read. I get book recommendations daily from friends and social media. My to-be-read list gets longer day after day and that excites me to read more.
To help you set up your own reading challenge, I gathered a list of some books that everyone should read next year. This list contains books from different genres to keep your reading journey more diverse and fun. This way you won’t get bored from reading the same genre.
Novel classics books everyone should read
First, we have to start with the classics. There is an endless list of classical novels everyone should read at least once in their lifetime. They have a different writing style and setting that, personally, mesmerize me.
- Wuthering Heights By Emily Brontë
This was the first classical I have ever read. It was so good I rated it 5 out of 5. It was so emotional and it made me cry. I consider a book good when it makes me cry. I might read it again next year to stir up those emotions.

Final thoughts
Although there is an unlimited number of books everyone should read in 2022, I wanted to keep this list brief.
Please note that you don’t have to challenge yourself if you don’t want to. There is no law when it comes to reading books. You don’t have to read 20, 50, or 100 books in one year to be considered a reader. Read at your own pace and just enjoy. It’s really not about quantity but more about quality.
It’s better to read one book a year and learn something from it than read a 100 and learn nothing.
